About

Curiosity with a practical test

We love new ideas in water sports. We also believe a clever idea has to survive a cold morning, a car roof, a dented rail and a beginner's first wobbly session.

Our outlook

Innovation as a set of trade-offs

Plunzoboardtll is a small, independent editorial project run from the Cornish coast. We write for recreational riders who are curious about new gear but would rather understand it than be sold it. That means starting with the design decision behind a product, then following its consequences into the water.

We do not assume newer is better. A lighter board might be easier to carry and harder to control in wind. A foil might double your rideable days and triple your maintenance. A tracker might motivate one rider and distract another. Naming those trades clearly is the whole point of the site.

How we separate proven from promising

We label gear as established when it is produced in volume, has spare parts and service support, is available to rent or demo, and has independent rider experience behind it. We call it emerging when production exists but long-term data is limited. We call it experimental when it is a prototype, a pre-order, a crowdfunding project or a research tool. Labels can change as products mature, and we update pages when they do.

Independence and corrections

We do not accept payment for coverage, sponsored posts or affiliate commissions. Brand names appear to make examples concrete, not as endorsements. If we get something wrong, tell us; we correct factual errors and note significant changes at the foot of the relevant page.
